About Us

Established in 1999, Reaching Our City, Inc. is a nonprofit (501(c)3) compassionate ministry, ROC annually serves tens of thousands of individuals in Oklahoma City through community services, including a large food pantry, a resale shop (thrift store), women's social support group, community development, jobs program as well as other social and educational programs.

In 2023 we launched a Caregiver Respite program called "The Fountain Club" which serves Older Adults and Adults with Special Needs as well as the folks that care for them on a daily basis. We are preparing to launch a 40-hour per week Adult Day Health Service called "Dayspring" in early 2024 which provides full care for Older Adults and Adults with Special Needs for 8 hours a day, 5 days per week.

Over 400 regular volunteers offer more than 15,000 volunteer hours each year. Our partners, including individuals and families, volunteers and volunteer groups, state and private agencies, churches, local schools and universities, health providers, retail organizations, funding agencies, and local community groups, provide in-kind services exceeding $1.3 million annually.

Our Culture

Reaching Our City is a TABLE & TOWEL community that is marked by radical hospitality, sacrificial servanthood, and contagious love (modeled after Jesus in John 13.1-35).

We express this vision through tangible acts of compassion and justice for people in our neighborhood, city, and world.

Our Beliefs

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

  • We believe in one God revealed personally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe the Bible communicates God's saving message and is our reliable authority in all matters related to faith and Christian living.

  • We believe that all humankind struggles with a downward pull toward sinful self-centeredness.

  • We believe that unless we experience God's help and salvation through a faith commitment to Jesus Christ, our future is one of separation from God and all that is good.

  • We believe the love and grace of God is extended to every person in the provision Jesus Christ made in his death and resurrection. By turning from our own selfishness and trusting Jesus Christ, we experience a new life, being freed from the old patterns of self-destructive acts called sin.

  • We believe our new life in Jesus Christ is the gateway to transformation. Following our moment of faith in Jesus, we believe there is another moment in which we present our life completely to Christ in order to live under his authority and to experience his transforming power.

  • We believe that Christian experience is more than a change of mind. It is accompanied by assurance that is grounded in both the Scriptures as well as the inner witness of God's Spirit.

  • We believe that all who live for Jesus Christ have an eternal future. Our belief in such a future includes both the fulfillment of God's creative purpose as well as the accountability of all persons endowed with the power of choice.
